While I can’t say I enjoyed reading this book, I found it very informative. I would say it is one of the “Bibles” of sheep raising. I know very little about sheep, even with having been around them now for 16 years without actually owning any until the past 2.

While much of the knowledge in this book is basic to all livestock and farming in general, the sheep specific knowledge was enough to give me confidence to plunge in–literally–when the neighbor’s ewe was having problems lambing and the vet was unavailable. As we build our own flock I am sure we will be turning to this book regularly.
