If you eat you need to read this book. If you shop, you need to learn what choices to make by reading this book.
I am surprised that this book isn’t mandatory ready for every high-school kid or college freshman. It should be. As a society we either don’t know, or don’t care where our food comes from–we should. What passes as food in the USA is an atrocity and the corporations who are responsible for putting it on the supermarket shelves should pay stiff penalties for continually lying to us.
Think of Pollan’s Omnivore’s Dilemma as the Cliff notes to this book. And while it is hard reading–both technically and from a that’s-gross-disgusting–I-don’t want-to-know-about-that point of view–it is a MUST read!
