A paper bound copy of the cookbook in even now making its way to me. I have now had increased interest in the paperbound version. Meanwhile over 500 copies have been downloaded, as far as I can tell from link-clicks and my usual Gastrocast episode feed.

I have decided that in the next few weeks I will no longer offer the cookbook for free anymore, when the paperbound version is released to the public.  It will be for sale, paperbound and downloadable copy. I have far too much time and effort invested in it, and now it is costing me money in hosting. The process has given me the confidence to do more publishing, but for a man without a steady income I have to change my strategy for monetizing my podcast. . . .

I am grateful to the 6 people who have contributed, or have promised contribution, and commented on the book. I was also pleasantly surprised to garner praise from several individuals in the design field. As far as how successful a social experiement this has been, the jury will be out for a  few more weeks.

UPDATE: I don’t know what I was thinking. In a moment of poverty and self-pity I went against my own grain. Of course the cookbook will remain free to download from here. That is why I put it together and released it in the first place. However, the cookbook will also be for sale as a paperbound copy and an updated e-book download with table of contents. Hopefully the number 500 downloads will be augmented and trippled by the end of the year and THAT will lead to the something bigger I need to carry me to the next level of excitement. Thanks for hanging in there and putting up with what I can only attest to being the effects of some crappy Pacific Northwest weather.
