Just in time for the weekend, Gastrocast #24 is here. This is the promised Back to School episode. I must have been mad when I proposed this one, because it was harder to come up with topics than I thought given my current mindset. Nevertheless we trundle on despite strange interruptions.
In this Gastrocast we talk about Dorm Room Cooking and tips for Students and Bachelor/ettes to cook effectively without much equipment or money. The ingredient of the week is Herbes de Provence. In the Kitchen Studio we cook an easy student meal in a foil pouch–featuring the staple of the student diet: Ramen noodles.
The Flickr photos can be found here.
Here are some links–The Art of Eating is a collection of MFK Fisher’s work, including How to Cook a Wolf–which is just her brilliant advice on how to eat of a slim budget. Also, I have included a pressure cooker link, but as I don’t own any I cannot say for sure if this one is any good. Based on Customer Reviews though, I would be tempted to buy this one.
If you are at all interested in purchasing any of these items, please use these links as I get a cut of the sale. The money of which goes directly to the show for ingredients, equipment and motivational beverages. I ask so little, and give barely more. . . .
One further note–I am trying to compile all the recipes as a downloadable PDF file, complete with all the photos. It is taking a ton of time so be patient it will be out some day. It doesn’t help that I keep adding to the work load each week. . . . .
Thanks to everyone who took the survey. I am reviewing the information and using to fine tune the delicate machine which is the Gastrocast. I really appreciate all the input.
