Like I said before, I didn’t expect to win the people’s choice awards–and I DIDN"T!
But thanks to ALL who voted. I really appreciate it. It was indeed an honor to be nominated. I’m going to give the Winning Show a listen to see if I can work some of their mojo–not.
We’ll see whose around next year and try then.
Congratulations to Franklin and Chris, both for your wins and your great shows!

Avoid rush hour. Idle time is gas lost

I blame the chads. Next year I want to volunteer for your campaign.
Someone aught to hang them Chads.
Next year we’re gonna kick some sunburnt beer swilling butt.
hey neal don’t sweat it. what would you prefer to do, win a cooking contest, or cook and eat a really great meal with some good friends? britney spears is popular. the da vinci code is popular. mcdonald’s is popular. george w. bush is popular! that does not mean good, in fact often it’s the opposite.
hugh.
Thanks for that Hugh. You’re absolutely right–I’m popular with the people who matter most and that’s what’s important. Still–have you heard the winning show in the food category???
I know I’m reaching out for this sort of thing only because I’m not working enough at the moment. It helps drive away the darkness that creeps up after hundreds of rejections in the job market and only limited call backs from clients. People aren’t spending as much on food in these parts as the used to, and what they are spending goes to the Chains.
When I get Gastro #20 up I’m gonna talk about where quality and simplicity in food can lead. . . .If you have those things good food and friends aren’t far away.
