The Summer travel season is heating up and so are the number of passengers in heat. . . .The Washington State Patrol is patroling the ferry system with bomb (and drug sniffing, to be sure) dogs to keep an eye on terrorists. Lately though these K-9 patrols have attacked and bitten paying travelers’ dogs. WTF? These are highly costly (tax payer dollars at work), highly trained animals–shouldn’t they be trained not to lunge at and bite other dogs?? My dog is, and he can find my kids lost shoes in the weeds. . . .No tax dollars spent. Not only have the k9’s attacked, the police are blaming the victims–keep your dog’s locked up in your car and they won’t get hurt. OKAY. . .Let’s get the officers and their K9 partners to be locked up in a car during a 90 degree day with the windows closed as they sit in a huge parking lot for 3 hours, while we pee on the side of the car and search the trunk–how would they fare?
