Rex Hammock has listed 7 types of podcasts he would pay money for–while I am not in the pole position #1, like Lloyd, I think I would fit in catagory #5:  Motivational, self-help, weight-loss, exercise, how-to audio: This content is all over the place already…even on iTunes. (And I touch on it in an upcoming post in this series.) It appears to me that iTunes will provide a robust marketplace for such programming — not only from the masters of this genre, but it could provide the platform necessary to add fuel to emerging cult figures in media microniches. (Personally, I nominate Merlin Mann of 43folders.com to pioneer this — I’d pay to subscribe to anything he produces.)

Type #4–audio books would be another area for me, but an audio cookbook is more of a traditional cooking show. . . .But I think I like the emerging cult media, microniche figure status as well. . . .

Sure, I agree, most are not  going to get rich at podcasting, but a little extra revenue is always nice.  I too would also pay for a Merlin Mann podcast.

Meanwhile without expectations of reward, I am ever your humble Podchef.
