Perfect for my needs, except I would need two. I am thinking this way because I have two jobs coming up in July which I need a large grilling surface for–a wedding and the groom’s dinner the night before. Trouble is at almost $1000 dollars these grills cost too much when I have one that works and is free sitting in my storage yard. Enter ME, perhaps the cheapest man I know. Now I fully understand the principle that it takes money to make money, and that pay the most you can afford for quality equipment, etc. However $2000 for grills will more than eat away the profit from these two events I have. Solution 1) get more events. Not so easy where I live, and in this economy. . . . #2)find a cheaper way to grill. Okay–I already have Big Bessie, but am running out of friend with backs strong enough to help me move her. So, call Weber and hit them with some blag.
I phoned Weber and they quoted me a price higher than Amazon. But I persisted and found our local WA State distributor. I can now buy the grills at HUGE savings. But to make them cost even less, I have posted an ad on the community bulletin board to see if I can sell a few more. Granted in a population of 500 I doubt I can promote even one, but that one means my two will cost me a few hundred less. In the end I will probably haul Big Bessie around with me rather than part with the cash, but in these pre-grilling days of summer who can’t resist dreaming about a new grill? If I do get a few Kettles, you can be sure you will be there with me when I go to pick them up, and again as I fire them up to test.
