IACP & Podcasting

As a member of the IACP–International Association of Culinary Professionals–I have contacted them to introduce them to podcasting and hopefully open up a dialogue about how it might be an effective tool for the association and other chefs. Granted, my efforts are crude at the moment, but I can see a much broader vision of where podcasting can lead a group like this. The global organisation is broken up into several geographical chapters. Each of these chapters has fascinating meetings and events–you could have a podcaster at each one, recording the event so the whole group across the world could attend. I don’t see how people really get to these events unless they are in their backyard. I’ve been a member for two years, and have only managed to attend one event, and it would have been a great podcast. Not so much the event itself, but the people who were there had great ideas and insights which could be shared in a much broader format.  I am hoping to get some feedback from this.

ipodder

Just a quick reminder to all visitors:  Thanks for stopping in and checking things out!  Feel free to download the Gastrocast via the links provided in the text.  However, I urge you to make things much simpler on yourself and download ipodder or ipodderx or one of the other podcast aggregators and load our RSS feed link into the aggregator along with the other podcasts you are interested in, and then–hey presto! the podcasts appear in iTunes, or your prefered mp3 player/computer link without any more effort on your part.

Podcasting is not Mac specific, you don’t have to have an iPod–in just a few short steps you can be hooked up with some great audio matter for your brain to consume. You can listen to podcasts on your computer, on your mp3 player, burn them to disc or dvd, stream them to your stereo. Anyway that is easiest for you to subscribe, tune in, check it out and  listen.  With over 5000 and growing podcasts out there, there is more than something for everyone to enjoy that they can find no where else, in no other way.  You select, you control, you have the say in your private station. Too cool!
