Selling out

In an effort to keep costs in control, you may have noticed I have included several commercial links on the site. I promise not to get too outlandish here with these things. I am hoping, also, to keep the content of any links/ads to within the realm of the Gastrocast–cooking, food, gardening, cookbooks and product endorsements.

Clicking on the links does help support me and the Gastrocast through your purchases, so I really Appreciate it!

I have been busy on ebay selling my past. Quite profitable for the moment as well. I am awaiting the rewards right now– an iriver 799 and microphone I ordered Friday. Now the soundseeing, event tours and interviews can begin! I may even take you inside out local courthouse (or try) if I am selected for jury duty next week.

Flush with this sense of accomplishment I have been battling the local phone company to bring me broadband. Because of where I live–far from a central hub–they have resisted offering DSL to our end of the rock. Until Now.  It seems that perhaps my tirade broke down their resistence–that or someone with more money than I, has requested service.  Sickend with slow dialup and dropped internet sessions I have demanded DSL service and it should be here on Friday–we’ll see. Until I’m sucking podcasts in on a 768kbps pipe, I’m not going to hold my breath. With the ability to loose my second phone line and dialup account I should break even on the deal, as long as the installation doesn’t break the bank.  This week’s ebay listings should cover that. Might as well turn all the crap around here into something useful.

And it’s all for you my listeners–All in aide of bringing better, high quality shows to your desktop. This week’s show is in the works, but I may wait until Friday before I put it out. If I go on a trip to the mainland (I’m supposed to purchase Chinese glazed pots for a market stall) later this week I might put it up then.

Shout out!

Here’s a shout out to Bicycle Mark from the Audio Communique.

Mark has coined the term podlonlieness–that state when everyone is busy and you aren’t hearing from anyone. Well, Mark it happens to us all. Same can be said of blogging. Thanks for commenting by the way–only the second time it’s happened here. Keep up the soundseeing tours. Love em.
